Christchurch Netball Centre recently opened a new 10-court indoor sports facility at Ngā Puna Wai. This premier venue is an inclusive environment, welcoming people from across Ōtautahi and beyond to enjoy a wide range of sports and activities.

We are now expanding our team so we can continue to serve our community with opportunities to connect, compete, and grow.


Netball Delivery Support

Part-Time Fixed-Term (25hrs/week during winter netball season)

Christchurch Netball Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to support the successful delivery of netball competitions. This seasonal role (25 hours per week) requires availability on Monday evenings, Wednesday evenings, and Saturdays.  Hours will be scheduled by mutual agreement.

As Netball Delivery Support, you’ll assist with competition administration, scheduling, and game-day operations while working closely with umpires, clubs, and key stakeholders. Strong administration, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office/365.

Appointed Board Member – Christchurch Netball Centre Governance Board (Voluntary Position)

Lead the Future of Netball in Christchurch!

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our Governance Board as an appointed Board Member. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of netball in our community, drive strategic growth, and support the development of our world-class facility - The Home of Netball. The Board is also open to co-opting additional Board Members multiple strong candidates apply.

About the Role

As a member of the CNC Board, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organisation’s strategic direction, ensuring strong governance, and fostering the continued growth of netball in Christchurch.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in one or more of the following areas:
✔ Strong relationships within the netball and wider community sport sector
✔ Knowledge and experience in the active recreation and sport sector
✔ Senior Board and/or Chairperson experience
✔ Legal or health & safety expertise
✔ Funding and sponsorship experience

Commitment & Term

📅 Term: Three (3) years, with eligibility for reappointment (maximum of three consecutive terms).
📅 Meetings: Monthly board meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month, typically in person.
📅 Additional Involvement: Participation in sub-committees, CNC events, and the Annual General Meeting may be required.

Board and Executive Support Role (Casual)

About the Role

The CNC Board is looking for an admin superstar to provide crucial support in planning, coordinating, and minute-taking for key meetings and governance activities. This casual role offers a flexible opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of Christchurch Netball Centre’s leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

📌 Providing administrative support for:
Board meetings (typically monthly)
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Board strategy day (held annually)
✔ Other governance-related activities as needed

📌 Assisting the General Manager with projects, including:
✔ Updating policies
✔ Supporting the implementation of constitution updates
✔ Providing administrative support for other projects as required

Hours & Flexibility

⏳ This role requires approximately 6 – 10 hours per month, primarily during evenings (meetings) and occasional weekends (strategy day).

Additional work may be available, prioritised and directed by the General Manager, paid at an agreed hourly rate.

Who We’re Looking For

We need someone who is:
✔ Highly organised with strong administrative skills
✔ Experienced in minute-taking and meeting coordination
✔ Professional, with excellent attention to detail
✔ Able to work independently and maintain confidentiality
✔ Familiar with governance processes (preferred but not essential)
