The Selwyn Kids Triathlon is a fun, supportive introduction to the world of multisport, giving primary school-aged children the chance to challenge themselves, try something new and experience the excitement of crossing a finish line. Following the traditional swim, bike, run format, the event is all about giving it a go, having fun and celebrating every participant's achievement.
The triathlon takes place at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre and Foster Park in Rolleston. Participants will start with a swim in the pool before exiting the centre and walking across a manned pedestrian crossing on Broadlands Drive. They will then collect their bikes inside Foster Park before tackling the bike and run sections of the course, finishing their event inside Foster Park.
Prefer to stay on dry land? The duathlon is another great option, with participants completing the run and bike sections entirely within Foster Park. Both the start and finish are inside the park.
There are no times to beat or prizes for coming first. The focus is on participation, giving it a go and enjoying the experience. Every participant will receive a Selwyn Kids Triathlon T-shirt to race in and a finisher's medal to celebrate their achievement. Whether it's their first multisport event or another chance to take on a new challenge, we want every child to finish feeling proud of what they've accomplished.
The entry fee is $50.00 per child.
