2025 Northland Sports Awards

The 2025 Northland Sports Awards will be a virtual presentation on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, 7.30pm on the Sport Northland Facebook page - www.facebook.com/sportnorthland. 

The award categories include - Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Garry Frew Memorial Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Brian Maunsell Memorial Service to Sport, Sportswoman of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, and the overall Supreme Award (the outstanding achievements of the finalists cover the period 1 October 2024 – 31 Oct 2025).

We will also be inducting two new Northland Legends of Sport and recognising the Community Impact Award recipients sponsored by PAK’nSAVE Whangārei.

History

The Northland Sports Awards aim to recognise our Northland sportspeople's achievements yearly through the media and an online awards presentation on the Sport Northland Facebook page.

The Northland Sports Awards, which have been organised by Sport Northland since 1987, recognise, acknowledge, and celebrate Northland's very best sportspeople and administrators in the categories of Supreme Sportsperson, Sportswoman, Sportsman, Brian Maunsell Service to Sport, Garry Frew Memorial Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and Community Impact Awards.

Alongside these prestigious awards, one or two Northland Legends of Sport are inducted into the Northland Sports Hall of Fame each year, joining the 35 Northland Legends of Sport.​​​​​​
