Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

As a volunteer Board Member, you will play a pivotal role in delivering upon the strategic direction and governance of Sport Waitākere. Our board convenes monthly for two-hour meetings at Sport Waitākere, with up to an additional five hours per month required to support sub-committee work and networking.

This position carries a three-year term, commencing in March 2026.

We are seeking individuals with a passion for helping people lead better lives. You will be well connected in West Auckland and reflect the diversity of our community. Successful applicants will ideally have governance experience, particularly in finance, and bring knowledge and previous experience across one or more of the following areas:

• Finance and Accounting (priority)
• Te Ao Māori/Māori world view
• Public health and wellbeing
• Delivering equitable outcomes specifically as they relate to Pasifika, Asian and communities who may be experiencing inequity
