St Mary’s Pasifika Asosi (Association) is dedicated to supporting our students, teachers, and parents. Our mission is to support our young Pasifika women discover their true potential and embrace opportunities that will lead to a successful future.
WHO WE ARE
The Asosi is an entity of Pasifika parents who meet regularly to discuss issues that pertain to Pasifika within St Marys College. It is facilitated by a Pasifika Executive Committee, a group of volunteers which comprises of:
Chairperson: Sina I Faleu Pupulu (also Acting Treasurer)
Secretary: Bex Tui
Assistant Secretary: Ruth Isa’ako
Assistant Treasurer: Jason Auva’a
We facilitate communication between parents and the school, focusing on various issues, concerns, and new initiatives.
OUR PURPOSE
We are dedicated to promoting the welfare of our girls and fostering a strong Pasifika identity within the school. This is achieved by encouraging understanding, and by strengthening and maintaining the unique identities, languages, and cultures of our Pasifika girls and their families.
OUR BELIEF
The Parent Asosi believes that when teachers, parents, and families are actively engaged in our children’s learning journeys, they are more likely to succeed at school.
GETTING INVOLVED
We are excited to begin another year and invite you to join us in our efforts to promote Pasifika culture, engagement, and community building. If this is your first year at St Mary’s College, the Asosi extends a very warm welcome to you and your family.

WORKING TOGETHER
The Committee believes that in order for our daughters to succeed, we must work together as a Pasifika community to help them grow. We are here to advocate on behalf of all our Pasifika daughters. If you encounter any difficulties or challenges in dealing with the school, we can offer cultural advocacy where needed.
We work very closely with our Pasifika teachers who can help to provide any school context at our meetings. This is on top of their own school responsibilities.
