Welcome to the official website of Volleyball Tasman Incorporated (VTI), the thriving result of the formal amalgamation between Nelson Bays Volleyball and Tasman Volleyball in 2021-22.

As an affiliate of Volleyball New Zealand (VNZ), VTI proudly represents Member Organisations, Clubs, and Schools spanning the picturesque regions of Kaikoura, Marlborough, Nelson Bays, Motueka Golden Bay, Buller, and West Coast. This diverse and vibrant demographic encompasses 8 Member Organisations and Clubs, along with 14 Colleges. Along with running the local 'Nelson Competions in the College and Social Space. 

Led by an exceptional interim Executive Committee, including President Brendan Crichton, Neil Anderson, Gary Rowse, Eric Swale, Nicole Lams and Claire Clayron, VTI is committed to fostering a united and inclusive volleyball community.

Our dedicated Service Contractors, Belinda Koloamatangi, Josh Ovsenek, and Gary Walker, ensure seamless administration, financial management, and game development. This strategic approach allows us to organise top-tier competitions, tournaments, and representation opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels along with supporting the social side of the game also. 

VTI takes pride in providing and supporting quality local and regional competitions. From the renowned Tasman Senior College Championships and Tasman Junior College Championships (Y9-10) to the thrilling Tasman Div.2 College Championships, Tasman Inter-School Spiker (Y7-8) Championships, and the prestigious Roy Titheridge Invitation Tournament (Y9-10), our championship events leave lasting impressions.

We pride ourselves in being able to offer a Social competition to the community all year round in the form of our Legends league! Great to see so many people of all abilities week in, week out taking the court. 

Our social Kareti (college) league has become a very popular competition in Terms1 and 4 with over 70 teams taking the court weekly having FUN!!!

VTI also introduced Junior College and Senior College Beach Championship tournaments, bringing the excitement of beach volleyball to the forefront.

We believe in nurturing talent and providing a pathway to success through our robust development program. Our TE TOTARA Development Programmes are nothing short of a resounding success, with over 220 young participants aged 8-19 attending the January sessions and 80-120 engaging in the January and October programs.

For aspiring athletes seeking higher representation, VTI proudly selects teams for the Inter-provincial Championships (June), with a special focus on the Pipeline U19 and U17 and Open Age Groups for boys and girls. Along with a U15 Pipeline Representative Team competing in a Welington Tournament in December. 

VTI values its partnership with the local community and extends gratitude to our funders and sponsors. Their generous support enables us to adapt to new challenges, develop active opportunities, and continually enrich our volleyball programs throughout the region.
