Canoe Polo Registration - Autumn League

3rd February 2025

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Canoe Polo is an exciting sport that your child can be involved in at Taradale Intermediate. Your child will learn the fundamental skills and the rules at the weekly coaching sessions. Games are played in the weekends starting on 15/16 March and finishing mid June.

Autumn League

Venue: Mitre 10 HB Sports Park (outside facility - term 1 games) & Flaxmere Pool (term 2 games)

Times: Games are played either on Saturdays (3.15pm onwards) or on Sundays (12.15pm onwards). Game times will vary depending on what division the team is in.

Cost: The total cost for Autumn League and the weekly practice sessions is $130.00.  This covers the cost of equipment hire and competition fees. Please complete the online registration by Friday 14th February so I can sort teams.
All fees are to be paid with your online registration. As sport is considered an extra-curricular activity, TIS has a ‘no pay, no play’ policy
before the commencement of the competition.

Should you have a credit balance on your child's school account, and wish to allocate this to payment and registration of this activity,  please phone (06 8447264) Sonja in the school office who will arrange this for you.

Team Practices:  Weekly practices will be held at the Mitre 10 HB Sports park either on a Monday or Wednesday afternoon depending on which team you are in. Weekly practices start on the 24/26 Feb and finish at the end of term one. Practices start at 4.30pm and finish at 5.30pm.

Competition Dates:

Week 1: Grading games take place over the weekend of 15/16 March (3 games will be played)

Week 2/3: Games will be played at Mitre 10 HB Sports Park - 29/30 March & 5/6 April

Week 4 to 8: Weekly games start the 3/4 May and finish 7/8th June

COACHES/MANAGERS WANTED
Extra-curricular activities such as Canoe Polo needs parental assistance to manage and coach teams. Teams must have an adult with them when at the sports park to supervise and help with getting into their kayaks.  If you can offer any help to manage/coach a team this year, please indicate on the registration form.  A roster system will be organised to share the supervision if we have no volunteers.

CODE OF CONDUCT
As proud parents and New Zealanders we love our sports and are keen for our students to do the best they can. Players and parents of all TIS sports will be asked to agree to our 2025 sports code of conduct. Please read and discuss with your child and your extended family
