NZF Learn offers coaches the opportunity to learn in their own time, whilst still holding onto the most important part of a course: the in-person engagement with peers, and educators and the quality conversations which take place at those times.

OFC/NZF C Licence

OFC/NZF GK C Licence
4-7 December 2025

The OFC/NZF Goalkeeping C Licence course is designed for coaches taking their first step on the advanced pathway for goalkeeping. The course will cover development from junior-youth-senior goalkeeping.

The objective of the course is to support coaches with exposing their coaching practice to methods, strategies and frameworks to best support their goalkeepers and working with other staff by:

Understand yourself and your goalkeepers better in order to improve
Understand and apply fundamental principles of goalkeeper development at appropriate age and stages
To successfully evaluate goalkeeper match performance in order to plan appropriate sessions to improve performance
Understand the importance of the coaching process and the application of key coaching principles.

This is a 5 day course and has a mix of theory, practical and E-learning modules.

Candidates will be challenged to critically analyse their coaching practice and seek ways to evolve their coaching practice within their current context.

On the completion of all course tasks, including a final assessment, the coach will be awarded the OFC/NZF Goalkeeping C Licence and gain 100 Continual Professional Development (CPD) accreditation points.

OFC/NZF C License Refresher

The OFC/NZF C-Licence refresher sessions are open to coaches who have attended a C-Licence course since 2020. These sessions will be facilitated by New Zealand Football and are designed to refresh coaches on some of the core C-Licence content while providing support to help prepare for the final video assessment. Please see the session details below:

JUNIOR COACHING COURSES

NZF Junior Level 2

This coaching award provides coaches with an opportunity to further develop knowledge and understanding of both practical and theoretical aspects of coaching junior players in the Discovery (4-8 years) and Skill Acquisition (9-12 years) Phases.

THEORY + PRACTICAL MODULES

The theory part of this award is done online through NZF Learn, and should take around 1 hour to complete. There is no extra cost. Please select Capital Football as your Football Federation.

NZF Youth Level 2

Youth Level 2
This course builds on knowledge learnt in the Youth Level 1, offering the chance for enthusiastic coaches to holistically develop their players and ready them for the adult game. This course will help coaches develop their footballers not only as players, but as people too.

Ideally, you would complete the theory before the practical session.

SENIOR COACHING COURSES
Suitable for those who coach open aged teams

NZF Senior Level 1

This first step for coaches of adult players provides information on how to organise enjoyable coaching sessions working on specific areas of technical development. Looking at areas such as “warm ups”, “what to do on game day” and “benefits of small sided games”, it is an informative starting point for coaches looking for guidance on the best way to coach adults.

Ideally, you would complete the theory before the practical session.

CPD Points

The Continual Professional Development (CPD) Programme applies to all coaches with an Advanced Coaching qualification and all qualified coach developers.

While coaches and coach developers are qualified for life, the ‘active’ status of qualifications are valid for a three-year period. To extend the ‘active’ status of qualifications for a further three years, coaches must earn 100 CPD points within that time frame.
