📣 Summer League Competition Newsletter #1

February – March 2026

Date: 13 February 2026

Kia ora koutou,

Thank you for submitting your interest and joining our 2026 Summer League Competition! We’re thrilled to have you involved as we warm up for the upcoming winter season.

➡️ Grade Format Update

After reviewing all team registrations, we found a mix of very small grades and others with high demand. To ensure an enjoyable and competitive experience for everyone, we will be running two grades only: Apprentices & Legends, made up of six‑team grades.

Our aim is to avoid BYE rounds, ensuring everyone gets to enjoy the full 7‑weeks of social netball.

➡️ Competition Structure

  • Each team will play five round‑robin matches, facing every team in your grade once.
  • At the conclusion of the round robin, teams will enter a play‑off series, including semi‑finals and finals.
  • Please note: Teams placed 5th and 6th after the round robin will play a repeated fixture during Finals Week.

This ensures every team enjoys consistent court time and a complete competition experience.

Please note If changes need to be made to grades to accommodate skill and ability, these will be amended when required.

📅 Start Date

Monday, 16 February 2026

Please arrive early and ensure your team completes a proper warm‑up before every match.
Courts 13 and 17 will be available for warm‑ups in between rounds.
While this is a social league, warming up is essential to help avoid unnecessary injuries- especially with the winter season ahead.

👩‍⚖️ Umpires

Each team must provide an umpire for the entire game. Please ensure your umpire is confident with basic rules and ready to officiate.

📘 Rules & Regulations

All competition guidelines, playing rules, and expectations can be found in our official Rules & Regulations document.
Please ensure your team has reviewed this before Round 1.
