🏆 Competitions Officer (30 Hours Per Week)

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and community‑focused Competitions Officer to support the preparation, administration, and management of our Premier, Club, Secondary School, Intermediate, Future Ferns, Social, and Inclusive competitions.

About the Role

The Competitions Officer ensures competitions run smoothly, are well‑structured, and provide positive experiences for players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, and spectators.

💼 About You

  • Experience in community sport or competition delivery
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Calm, confident, and objective under pressure
  • Able to manage sudden changes such as cancellations or deferments
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Positive, energetic, and flexible with a team‑focused approach

📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver competitions across Vautier Park, CET Arena, and other required venues
  • Develop an annual competitions calendar
  • Administer registrations and grade structures
  • Produce and manage SKED (Sporty) draws and competition documentation
  • Coordinate pre‑season and grading meetings
  • Communicate clearly with clubs, schools, officials, and volunteers
  • Ensure game day setup and operations are prepared and executed
  • Manage queries relating to points tables, defaults, deferments, and court allocations
  • Collaborate with volunteers and competitions committees
  • Review competitions and rules annually
  • Support delivery of local and Zone tournaments and events

📍 Location

Based at Netball Manawatū Centre, Vautier Park.
Some evening and weekend work is required, especially during the season.

🏆Representative Lead (10 Hours Per Week)

We are also looking for a dedicated Representative Lead to oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of Netball Manawatū’s representative netball programme.

⭐ About the Role

You will manage rep trials, team selection processes, training schedules, logistics, coach support, and communication with athletes and families. This role helps create positive, development‑focused environments for athletes while aligning with our strategic goals.

💼 About You

  • Experience in rep, high‑performance, or community sport environments
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Highly organised and confident managing multiple priorities
  • Calm, objective, and supportive under pressure
  • Understanding of netball principles and athlete development pathways
  • Team‑focused, positive, and able to provide constructive feedback

📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and implementation of the representative programme
  • Coordinate trials, selections, training schedules, and competitions
  • Recruit, appoint, and support coaches, managers, and support staff
  • Oversee player development strategies including skills, wellbeing, and conditioning
  • Manage logistics for trainings, tournaments, uniforms, equipment, and travel
  • Liaise with Netball NZ, Netball Central Zone, schools, and other stakeholders
  • Act as key contact for teams, athletes, and whānau
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, safeguarding requirements, and regulations

Based at Netball Manawatū Centre, Vautier Park.
