Social Media – Keeping Pony Club Safe Online

At Pony Club, we believe that how we behave online matters just as much as how we treat each other in person.

Social media is a powerful way to celebrate our clubs, our people, and our ponies — but with that comes responsibility. Whether you're posting on behalf of your club or sharing a personal moment, the NZPCA Code of Conduct applys whenever there’s a Pony Club connection.

Let’s work together to keep Pony Club’s online spaces positive, welcoming and safe for everyone.

We’ve created a guide that outlines what’s expected, who it applies to, and what to do if there’s a concern. It’s well worth a read.

Do’s

  • Celebrate your club, team and horse in a positive way

  • Treat others with respect in comments, messages, and posts

  • Ask permission before posting photos/videos of others, especially children

  • Use Pony Club logos and branding appropriately and with permission

  • Speak up or report behaviour that may breach our values or policies

Don’ts

  • Bully, harass, or intimidate others online – even in “private” chats

  • Post offensive, sexually suggestive, discriminatory or violent content

  • Share or spread rumours, ridicule others, or engage in online arguments

  • Make public comments that damage the reputation of Pony Club or its people

  • Use social media as a platform for grievances or personal attacks
