Badminton Club - Professional Coaching

Badminton Coach:  Donald Koh, Bay of Plenty Badminton

Competitive Sports Club (Years 7–13)

This club is for competitive Year 7–13 players who require coaching for IG/A-Level PE (as discussed with Mr. Shaw) and/or those who plan to participate in tournaments (see Key Dates).

  • Minimum: 10 students required for the club to proceed
  • Priority: IG/A-Level PE students may be given priority when registering

Day & Time

  • Term 2: Monday lunchtime, Gymnasium (starts Week 2)
  • Term 3: Monday lunchtime, Gymnasium (starts Week 2)

What to Wear

  • Coaching Sessions: PE gear and sports shoes
  • Tournaments: Students will be provided with an ACG sports uniform

  • $80 per student per term

Recreational Sports Club (Years 7–13)

Maximum of 30 students per session.  

Day & Time

Tuesday lunch time during Term 2 and 3.  Starts Week 2.

What to Wear

  • PE gear and sports shoes
  • Rackets and shuttles provided

Fees

  • $20 per student per term.  Termly registration is required.

Tournaments / Qualifier events

The events listed under Key Dates are competitive qualifying events, leading to a Championship Tournament.

​​​​​​​FEE:  To be confirmed based on the final number of entries and transport requirements.  Any withdrawals within three (3) days of the event will still be invoiced.

TEAM/DIVISIONS: 

Secondary:  For Junior and Senior Secondary a team of four (4) students is required.  Divisions entered as stipulated by Bay of Plenty Badminton, as per below.

If your team wishes to play in a higher division, but doesn't not include the below number of rep players, please advise the Sports Coordinator.

  • Division 1:  2x past or current Bay of Plenty rep players
  • Division 2:  1x past or current Bay of Plenty rep player
  • Division 3:  No past or current Bay of Plenty rep players

Intermediate:  For Year 7/8 events a pair/team of two is required.
