ACG Tauranga Golf Academy

Launched in January 2025 our golf coaching programme continues to build momentum, offering year-round opportunity for students to learn the basics, develop technical skill, course awareness, confidence, and a lifelong enjoyment of the game.

Whether students are brand new to golf or working towards competitive performance, we will provide a supportive structure tailored to ability and experience.

With the installation of our on-site driving nets, golf simulator facility and investment in SNAG (Starting New at Golf) equipment and golf clubs, students now have greater access than ever to learn, practise, and progress.

Player Development Pathway

With the growth of the programme, our focus is shifting towards building a structured player development pathway.

Together with Jimmy Napier, we are developing a programme that will provide a clear pathway that supports students from:

  • Introduction, learning the basics and fundamentals, through to
  • Skill consolidation and intermediate development, and ultimately
  • Advanced and competitive pathways, including tournament participation at a local, regional, and national level.

This approach will allow students to develop at an appropriate pace, track their progress over time, and remain engaged as their skills and goals evolve.

Tournaments & Representation

Students wishing to represent ACG Tauranga in golf tournaments must be affiliated with a recognised New Zealand golf club and hold an official registered handicap.

A selection of tournament opportunities are available throughout the year (see Key Dates). Participation will depend on entry numbers, and for most events parent/caregiver support with transport and supervision will be required.

If your child is interested in competing or would like more information, please contact: Mr Allan Johnston (TiC) or Mrs Kristy Rutherford (Head of Sport).
