Our teams compete in a weekly Winter competition administered by Tauranga Netball.


Coaching and Umpiring

Coaches:

  • College Senior & Junior: Centrie Newdick
  • Year 7–8A: Centrie Newdick TBC
  • Primary: Subject to sufficient numbers (no teams formed in 2025)

Umpires are required to be provided for College grades - we can assist with qualifications - please contact taurangasport@acgedu.com if you are interested.

Competition Details

  • College Senior and College Junior:
    • Grading:  Friday 8 May, from 5pm
    • Competition starts:  Friday 15 May
    • Game time: 4:30pm and 5:30pm (Junior) 7:30pm (Senior)
    • Semi-finals and Finals:  Saturday 15 August
    • No games:  29 May and 3, 10, 17 July.
  • Intermediate (Year 07–08):
    • Grading:  Saturday 2 May
    • Competition starts:  Saturday 9 May
    • Game time: 8am (Year 8) and 9am (Year 7)
    • Semi-finals and play-offs:  Friday 14 August
    • Finals and play-offs:  Friday 21 August
    • No games:  30 May and 4, 11, 18 July.
  • Primary (Years 03–06):
    • Saturdays (times vary by year level)

In-season Training

  • College Senior:
    • Term 2:  Monday 4:00-5:30pm
    • Term 3:  Monday 4:00-5:30pm & Wednesday Time TBC
    • Location: ACG Gymnasium
    • Please note:  If players intend to participate in UNISS, the team will be required to attend training during the Term 2-3 holiday between 29 June to 20 July.
  • College Junior: 
    • TBC if sufficient numbers achieved to enter a team
    • Location: ACG Gymnasium and/or Turf
  • Intermediate (Year 07–08):
    • Thursday 4:00-5:30pm
    • Location: ACG Gymnasium
  • Primary (Years 03–06):
    • TBC if sufficient numbers achieved to enter a team
    • Location: ACG Gymnasium and/or Turf

Umpires

  • Each team is required to provide an umpire
  • Families with an interest in umpiring are encouraged to indicate this on the registration form

  • All grades play at the Tauranga Netball Centre, Maunganui Road, Mount Maunganui

  • Meeting minimum player numbers
  • Securing essential staffing, including coaches and umpires

Tournaments:

UNISS, held during NZ Secondary Schools Tournament Week, will take place in 2026 from Monday 31 August (departing Sunday 30 August) to Friday 4 September.

If a student intends to trial for or play in the Netball College A team and is also involved in another tournament sport (e.g. Football or Hockey), they must indicate on the registration form which tournament they intend to attend. This allows selections and team planning to be managed appropriately.

Uniform:

  • ACG Netball dress provided.
  • Plain white short/no-show socks must be purchased/worn with appropriate sports shoes.
  • ACG gym shorts should be worn underneath dresses. These can be purchased from NZ Uniforms and must be an appropriate size/coverage.  These can also be worn for training and during PE.

2025 Fees:

Subject to change in 2026 based on final team numbers, entry, and team costs.

  • Y 11-13: $385
  • Y 09-10: $385
  • Y 07-08: $190* 
  • Y 05-06:  No team in 2025
  • Y 03-04:  No team in 2025

*Umpire fees may be removed to be paid direct to the umpire by cash.  If this occurs the fee will be reduced to reflect this.
